My Conglomerate

SUMMER IS GONE

Dog days over etc

This summer marked the start of THE GROUP and my 5th year in a row playing Hamtramck Labor Day Fest… Half a decade! Interesting! VHS recap footage by Jeff Spisak.

We played a show for each summer month as I continued those solo acoustic sets in tandem.

2 years ago a lot changed for me. 1 year ago I set that record straight by ending Zilched officially ❤

BACK IN THE ZILCHED DAYS I felt my natural inclinations were “Bad for business” as being an artist to begin with tends  to be… Bands become brands.. There’s just too much contradiction, too many different elements spiritually, physically and emotionally, within and surrounding the writer, the musician, the audience member… There’s this apollonian/dionysian balance I, personally, need in order to feel some sense of creative survival.

The solo vs GROUP set lists hold about 70% crossover. 2 M.O.s… me and my shadows. FOR NOW, It’s about sustaining action not ambition.

TO FIND MORE PINK SKY SEASONS BELOW THE BELT OF VENUS…. IF ALL HELL SHOULD FREEZE UP I SEE NO BETTER REASON.

I made this blog site thing to 1. give less of my SWEET TIME to Instagram and 2. to share more of the creative “mixed media” world-building/life living that accompanies each project I share…

Music, film, writing, some movie and book recommendations. THINGS I LIKE. whatever else comes to mind..???? We shall see!! Thats what I got for now.

If you’re new or you’ve been following along with my “work” since Zilched, Thank you. This summer set a lot of that center balance i’d been seeking into place and I’m grateful for the experience and all who enjoyed it with me…

I WROTE A BOOK WHICH ENCAPSULATES A LOT A LOT OF THIS ❤
Just let me know if you want one.

Expect new explorations of performance soon! The Group is everyone in the room…

I do have another records worth of songs and I will be recording em’ with the group as the air gets cold.

“We are images, dreams, photographs. We must not stay here. Prisoners! We shall break the illusion. This is Maya! Goodbye to the Holy Mountain. Real life awaits us!”
