RUST – POWER, LIMITATIONS & LYCANTHROPIC INSPIRATION

The full moon transformation scene in An American Werewolf In London is like a precious symbol to me, encapsulating the pain of becoming while being so outrageous it’s comedic(Shout out Rick Baker 💙).

Well, I think that a werewolf can only be killed by someone who loves him.

… If you could rip the anger out of your belly and hold it in your two hands, what then could you learn from the pain?

I wrote this song almost as a mantra, the mental visual of the liminal space where This Guy and the Love could live untouched. Then, I started poking fun at my own powerlessness through painting such a childish game. If I take this thing any further, it’s MY ass that’s on the ground.  – Flesh is mortal. Decay is eternal – I can’t beat him and there’s nothing to be won anymore.

Broken down, listening to “No Touch Torture” off THE UNSELF by Patriarchy, going from stone depression to getting up off the floor, dancing and working out until I do believe I feel good n strong.

“Look at me / Don’t touch me / Look at me, me, me, me, me / What are you doing? / Don’t touch me / Don’t touch / No touch, touch, touch, touch”

Self preservation…Re-aligning…

If you’re reading this, I’ll assume you’re interested; THE CAVE IS A CHRONOLOGICAL STORY! “Belt Of Venus” is the metaphysical liberation/halfway point, whereas “Rust” lives earlier in what I’d call act 1. Where the primary concern was to examine some demons before I could abandon them… ie; VIOLENT WEREWOLF TRANSFORMATION.

In two more weeks you’ll hear “Echo’s Chamber” /act 3.

“I accept The Archetypes lodged deep in the primordial brain… We kill for the thing which devours us. We give in to The Unself.”

– Actually Huizenga of Patriarchy

CLIPS: Said transformation, “No Touch Torture” live, inspiring earache from Brain Damage, “Brilliant Things” by Terror Bird(just the audio cuz I guess the vid is age restricted .. check it out..) & Evil Dead.
